Re: What Wee Dram are you enjoying now?
For a change of pace tonight I was in the mood for something heavily sherried and sweet, so I decided to have a pour of Macallan 12, a consistent dessert whiskey for me.
Re: What Wee Dram are you enjoying now?
Some Glen Elgin 12 fit the bill tonight, a great speysider in the Balvenie vein.
Re: What Wee Dram are you enjoying now?
Kilchoman, summer 2010 release. This is intense stuff. Smoky and medicinal to the max, but with a tingling sweetness like strong black licorice. I found it overbearing at first but it has grown on me.

Can't find it here at the LCBO, I've looked. Also seems that the Glendower is no longer sold. :-(

Seems like the good deals don't last long. Kilchoman sold out in what must have been record time. I heard of individuals buying up all the stock in their region.
Re: What Wee Dram are you enjoying now?
Yesterday over at Tony's AKA ACDetroit, he brought out the Springbank and several Laphroaig's.
All were stellar.

James, I still see Glendower on the listing.

Went with the blends last night: White Horse, Teacher's Highland Cream and Black Grouse. All were excellent and thoroughly enjoyable.

I haven't tried White Horse but I know the other two are on the peatier side of blended Scotch. How did you feel the Black Grouse compared to the other two?
Re: What Wee Dram are you enjoying now?
The more I drink it, the more it seems that the Singleton of Glendullan is one of the best Scotches I've tried. It is just so damned nice from start to finish.
