Some Glen Elgin 12 fit the bill tonight, a great speysider in the Balvenie vein.
Kilchoman, summer 2010 release. This is intense stuff. Smoky and medicinal to the max, but with a tingling sweetness like strong black licorice. I found it overbearing at first but it has grown on me.
Can't find it here at the LCBO, I've looked. Also seems that the Glendower is no longer sold. :-(Quote:
