I've been eyeing that one at the LCBO... is it really that good?

It is exactly what it claims to be; "rich, smooth, and perfectly balanced." Connoiseurs seem to find it too simple or unchallenging. I find it creamy, chocolatey, gently spiced. I will probably buy it again.
Re: What Wee Dram are you enjoying now?
Laphroaig Quarter Cask and it's the bottom of the bottle.
Re: What Wee Dram are you enjoying now?
Went to the Highland Park 12 yr. several times over the Thanksgiving Holiday. It continues to be impressive.
Re: What Wee Dram are you enjoying now?
Thanksgiving Day we broke out two new whiskys--Arran Single Malt and Isle of Jura Single Malt. Both were pleasant but fairly nondescript, with most folks leaning towards the Jura due to somewhat fuller flavor.

Jura over Arran? Hmm. Which bottles were they?

The Arran was the 10 year old unchillfiltered and the other was the Isle of Jura 10 year old. No serious tasting going on, just lots of food, beer and a bit of single malt to top things off. The Jura was knocked off completely while a third of the Arran remained, which my cousin was kind enough to send home with me. I visited their distillery many years ago, so was pleased to get reacquainted with their whisky.

Black Bottle, Laphroaig QC, and now Lagavulin 16, The Laga is heavenly.
Re: What Wee Dram are you enjoying now?
Just added a Laga 12 CS to the line-up. Man I love this distillery!

Strange weather day today, it started off with rain then stopped and very cloudy and overcast and in the 50's but damp so it feels like Laphroaig 18yo, neat.
So that's what I'm sippin'.
