Re: Rare Breed vs WT 1855
This thread gives an insight into the 1855. There are other threads with the same verdict, that it is Rare Breed packaged for export.
I have a 375ml that is from batch No W-T-01-94 AND IT IS 112.2 proof
Do you know where in Japan it is available? I have a friend going over there shortly, and I would love a 750mL (then I can drink this 375:grin:)

Re: Rare Breed vs WT 1855
RB is great stuff. I've had it side-by-side with AS and it's just as good (different, but I couldn't pick a favorite)
Scott (the westcoast/domestic one, not the Ohio or Indiana or Australian one)
Re: Rare Breed vs WT 1855
You know, someone named other than Scott is able to participate.
So, it appears that the RB and the 1855 is the same stuff.
Thanks
Re: Rare Breed vs WT 1855
I need to help with the Scottness of the thread.
That's all.
Re: Rare Breed vs WT 1855
Now thats alot of Scotts...
Re: Rare Breed vs WT 1855
Scott (the westcoast one),
I will have to try Rare Breed along side American Spirit...I tried it (AS) side by side with Kentucky Spirit and found them very similar. It might be time to crack another RB

The RB has what I'd call a "fruitier" nose, while the AS is a bit drier and maybe a little smoother.
Interestingly, this is the same relationship I found between VW 12yo Lot B and PVW 15.

Scott(s) I have had both the 1855 and the RB... and the 1855 bottle you are referring two is one of my all time favorites. I put it as the top of my WTs... and I have a damn flock of Turkeys
I think the 1855 was pulled from a special barrel or set of barrels....

Hopefully I can get a 750mL so I can drink this 375mL sucker (I know, I know, I should just drink it anyway!)
