Tonight it was a Gurkha Centurian with a pour of Wild Turkey 101.
I had a Gurkha Empire last night. The last 1/4 was good. The first 3/4 was unremarkable.
I have made a vow to myself to not buy any more Gurkha's.
Company picnic, ORVW 10/90 on ice and an Opus X, good day.
This afternoon I sat back and enjoyed a Man O War Puro Authentico with a pour of Wild Turkey 101.
This evening I enjoyed my newest addition to my humidor. I got a box of La Herencia Cubana Core Robusto. It is a nice full bodied smoke and went well with a pour of Bulleit Rye.
Played a charity golf scramble yesterday, and enjoyed a very nice La Gloria Cubana along with the perfect weather.
I have seen rumblings that the master blender, or whatever you call the guy that supervises the blends, has left LGC and that they are not as good now?
I had a Oliva Serie V #4 tonight. I'm thinking box worthy. I have had the Serie V Lancero and Double Robusto but I think the #4 is my favorite so far.
I still intend to make it through the rest of the vitola's though.....just to be sure!
Robert, I don't know about a personnel change at La Gloria, I'll have to do some checking. This one has been in the humidor for a while though, and was typically delicious. I totally agree with you on the Oliva Serie V- great smoke in every way.
Recently picked up some Padilla Achilles for $2 a stick. A great smoke for the price. For a domestic, it's got a nice flavor profile of sweet tobacco and toasted nut. Burns straight and the wrapper is well done.
