Re: Which Water of Life Did You Purchase Today?
Laphroaig quarter cask. I really didn't like this one at first. When I opened the bottle it just tasted like ashes and was way too woody. After a few months in the back of the cabinet the ashyness is gone. It's still smokey and now there is some sweetness poking through. It's gotten a lot more enjoyable, which is to say, it is now enjoyable!
Re: Which Water of Life Did You Purchase Today?
Spent last night going through K&L's 2012 whiskey program releases. I haven't had anything from any of the distilleries other than the islay ones, but I'm trying to branch out so I took islay off the table. Decided to go with the 20 year old Longmorn. Anyone else buying any of these single barrels? How about that Port Ellen?
Re: Which Water of Life Did You Purchase Today?
Picked up a bottle of Compass Box Great King Street New York Blend and the 4th Edition of Flaming Heart.
Re: Which Water of Life Did You Purchase Today?
A few days back I picked up a Balvenie Tun 1401 (Batch #3) and Ardbeg Alligator. I tend to heavily favor the Islays, but that Balvenie is something else!

I don't know, but you can be sure that, if it does, Ohio won't sniff it.
What is the ABV on that?
Re: Which Water of Life Did You Purchase Today?
The Lagavulin 21 will be 52% ABV.
Re: Which Water of Life Did You Purchase Today?
Picked up a Bushmills 16 after really enjoying the 21 and the Black Bush...
Re: Which Water of Life Did You Purchase Today?
Picked up a few today. Springbank 10 100 proof, Highland Park 12, Balvenie Doublewood, Old Pulteney 10, and Glenmorangie Signet
Re: Which Water of Life Did You Purchase Today?
Saw the Balvenie Tun 1401 Batch #3 pop up on one of my favorite net retailers, so I snatched it immediately. Added the Compas Box Flaming Heart 4th Edition, since I was already paying for good measure.
