One of my very favorites, if you don't mind the sherry influence. Enjoy!

Got a line on some Laphroaig 30 I'm going to try and buy tomorrow. We'll see.

I had the batch 18. Very enjoyable and as UncleBuck said... heavy on the sherry.

What's that cost, if you don't mind my asking? I saw a dusty bottle recently for $200 in a dive not far from where my wife works. I can't swing that kind of dough but I've got a friend who's interested in going halves with me.
Re: Which Water of Life Did You Purchase Today?
More than $200 but not a lot. I'd jump on your dusty in a heartbeat if it was local.
Re: Which Water of Life Did You Purchase Today?
It seems there is a huge price difference on the Laphroaig 18yo depending on what state you buy it in.
I've seen it as high as $169.99 in Cali to the low of $69.97 here in MI. and 22 different prices in between.

So of course I ordered one today, bottle that is, I probably should have ordered a case.

Went to a scotch tasting tonight at a local store. While I had tasted many of the available scotches previously, there were a few I hadn't tried before. I did run accross one that was totally unique, a 17 YO Balvenie aged 3 years in a rum cask. Ended up taking 2 home with one (one to open, one to bunker) since it was a limited release.

What was that one like, Tom? Sounds interesting!

I heard recently that Tamhdu has shut down. I saw a bottle at $17.xx and asked how many they had. I bought a case plus one (13) and he gave me a 5% Discount! At that price I'd buy any Scotch single malt, even Speyburn.
Re: Which Water of Life Did You Purchase Today?
I'm even more of a Scotch n00b than a bourbon n00b, but I grabbed a few Tamdhu 10 bottles. Not sure if or when I'll get into them (still inching my way along the bourbon highway for now) but since it is going away, it can't hurt to stash away a little stock.
