What I'd really like to get, but can't find without a trip to Canada, is Alberta Premium. I have friends in upstate New York who travel to Canada periodically but they've repeatedly forgotten to pick me up a few bottles when they head over the border. Nothing like an unreliable "mule" when you've gotta get your rye fix.

Yeah, Alberta Premium is quite good, as is Alberta Springs. One of my all-time favourite whiskies is Alberta Premium Limited Edition, aged 25 years. It used to be available in Ontario for $29.95, but I guess it finally ran out.

Ardbeg 10yr. Poured the last of a bottle I had on the bar last week and much to my shock, had none left in the bunker. Had a craving for it last night. Is it me or is this stuff getting sweeter?

The horror! That's when I make the late night dash to the liquor store.

I think that it is getting a tad sweeter, at least my last bottle seemed that way.

There may have been a few changes in the process since the new guys took over-- keep in mind that the Ardbeg 10, until last year (or 2008? I can't quite remember), was using the juice distilled back before the distillery closed down.
Only very recently has the spirit distilled since the re-opening been out on the market...

I wonder if there are any outlets that ship Alberta Premium south of the border? Can't imagine how good that 25 year old APLE must have been. And under $30, to boot!
Re: Which Water of Life Did You Purchase Today?
McIvor's 6yr and McIvor's 12yr.
Re: Which Water of Life Did You Purchase Today?
Laphroiag 10yr CS. I hardly ever buy scotch, but the Islay Malts call for me every once in a while. I almost grabbed the Lagavulin, but I really like the Cask Strength stuff, which it wasn't.
Re: Which Water of Life Did You Purchase Today?
Ardbeg Airidh Nam Beist. Been looking at that bottle for the last 6 months and finally had to pull the trigger.
Re: Which Water of Life Did You Purchase Today?
I bought a Aquafina today which I assume is close to the "Water Of Life Thing",.... if not then it was just tap water in a cool looking plastic half liter bottle.
