Sticky: Re: BOTM 7/14: Very Old Barton 100 proof/BIB

My perspective exactly. The price is right and there is nothing wrong with it. It just isn't something that I look forward to. I can still find aged stated bottles but I continue to pass. I...

Sticky: Re: BOTM 5/14: Woodford Reserve

The connection to the Derby and marketing focused on the picturesque distillery have helped the brand image too.

I like it at $25 a bottle. $35 a bottle, not so much.

Sticky: Re: BOTM 6/14: Jim Beam White

I didn't drink it in college but I have had more than enough at company Christmas parties to know that I will never buy a bottle.

Sticky: Re: BOTM 4/13: Old Grand Dad 114

I have seen OGD 114 recently for $19.99 in Indy. Good price on a solid bourbon.

"After thinking it over for the last few nights I'm convinced my last bottle of WFE was the OGD mashbill (an 11...

Based on your name, I assume that you don't like bourbon or cigars. That's too bad!

 Yeah, I check the thread because of the similarity in names. I assume you two are related? If so, how did one end up in Florida and the other in Tennessee?

Yeah, it is a store select. They have several different store selections on the shelf. The Smooth Ambler might be the best.

Sticky: Re: BOTM 4/14: Weller Special Reserve

Not a regular pour but it is ok for what it is. I prefer WL12 and OWA. I do have some WSR 7 year which is pretty good. Even for the price, there are other options that I prefer.

    Re: 1912 Old Jim Gore

Yeah, it probably has more "cool" value than intrinsic value. There were a lot of pre-prohibition brands.
