    Re: Ex-Pat in Germany

Some solid pours there Kurt. I have only had Rowan's Creek once and I found it very enjoyable. Do you get the age stated version?

Re: New Here, and New to Bourbon

    Welcome Nick.

No harm, no foul on the EC12 - it sure is a polarising whiskey around here.

Have you tried Old Grandad 114 or Old Weller Antique yet? They might be cheaper than your $25 mark...

    Objectively, probably not...

But subjectively, on it's night, OGD has beaten them out for my personal enjoyment and that is what sippin' is about for me :)

    Re: G'Day from Aus

If you have the $$ I heartily recommend the OGD114. Maybe my palate ain't refined enough but it drinks as good as, or better depending on the night as WT12 and Lot b calibre whiskies.

    Best Beam...

Re: BOTM 06/09: (WT) Russell's Reserve

Dang it! Thought I was going to get to play this month and y'all are doing the 90 proof. Interesting to see some negativity about RR101, a bottling which seems to be generally lamented in passing.

Re: Affordable Bourbons and Ryes for Beginners

Good call on this label IMHO Funknik (well the Aussie Virgin 101 I have had ;) ). This is a great bourbon for taking to a party or when the budget is tight. If a friend wants to mix it you don't...

    Re: Hi! From Down Under

EC12 was $40.99 and the EWSB was $55.95 I'm pretty sure. The EWSB is more or less bang on WT101 pricing around the place. I will be returning to the same store for a couple of bottles of the EC12 for...

    Re: Hi! From Down Under

Well I ended up with another bottle of EC12. The stockist had it on special so it was $15 saving to go EC12 over the EWSB...hard to argue with.

    Re: Hi! From Down Under

    G'day Scott,

Cheers for the indicative pricing. Buying Bourbon would have been much more fun in late '07 early 08 when we were up around the $0.95USD exchange rate I'll bet. Look's like I might...

Trust me it is painful reading what you guys consider a "tasty budget pour" and I find it's unavailable or...not so budget! Still if I buy enough bourbon I may be able to sell the Mrs on a stateside...
