    Re: Newbie from Maryland

I was in an MC liquor store today and offerred to advise a customer staring intently into the bourbon section. He politely refused, and after a moment grabbed a 1.75L bottle of Jim Beam White (JBW)...

    Re: BOTM,11/07:Basil Haydens

Come to think of it, I really compare Johnnie Walker Red with BY when asking myself what to drink. But yes, here in Montgomery County, Maryland, we don't have private liquor stores but government-run...

    Re: BOTM,11/07:Basil Haydens

BH was the first small batch bourbon I ever purchased. I like it some, but I generally think of it as a scotch-like drink. That's OK, but I can only drink it straight, since it lacks enough proof...

    Re: BOTM, 8/06: A.H. Hirsch 16yo

    Re: BOTM, 8/06: A.H. Hirsch 16yo

I'm a big fan of the Hirsch 16yo, and that's my problem. Because some day it'll all be gone. What do I do? I'm starting to look for something else.

So what is comparable? So far, I've heard...

Re: BOTM, 5/06: 1792 Ridgemont Reserve

I'm on my second bottle of 1792. Stuff is so smooth, its easy to drink too much of it. Velvety definitely, rich I don't know about. The taste is weaker than WR, but there is very little burn. $17.99...
