Welcome! I am originally from Idaho. Grew up in Nampa. graduated from Kuna High School. My brother lives in Boise and my mom lives in the mountains near Idaho City. Not the same part of the state,...
Welcome! There are quite a few Virginians on this board...
Welcome! Where do you live in the South of France? My wife and I were just there on our honeymoon a week or so before your post...
I'm gonna go ahead and bump this again
Welcome from a fellow Virginian! Fortunately, the VA ABC stocks a pretty decent selection of bourbon at pretty good prices (esp. on sale), but it can get a little boring after awhile.
A lot of it is probably just your nose overwhelmed by alcohol. As Brad suggests, try nosing with your nose a little further away. But I think it is something that will come with more experience -...
What did you think of the Pappy 20?
I also would recommend the ORVW 10/107 if you can find it.
OGD BIB & WT101 are my two favorite classic budget bourbons, although I also like Jim Beam Black...
Hah! Not a lesson in how not to write, I hope?
We law clerks actually have a legal writing training session today, led by a couple of our judges.
Welcome! I'm not "from" San Diego, but was born there.
You should probably try Virginia Gentleman - the 90 proof aka "The Fox", not the cheapo 80 proof.
Welcome!

Welcome to the board. VWSR is one of my favorites. Have you tried Wild Turkey Kentucky Spirit or Rock Hill Farms? Those are both favorites of mine in the same sort of $40-50 price range you seem...
Welcome to the group! Sounds like you're off to a good start on the bourbon hounding...

Yeah, on tap. I had it on tap at a place in Philly a few weeks ago and it was delicious.
We have several places in DC that serve Belgian beers on tap, but I haven't found the Bernardus Abt. 12...
Welcome! I'm also a fan of good beers. Lately my favorite has been St. Bernardus Abt. 12. I just wish I could find some place in the DC area that has it on top.
Hi Lukasz,
I live in the DC area and can probably help you out with getting the Mt. Vernon bottle. Also, I think I have an extra set of the Bourbon Heritage Collection Minis that you're looking...
When did you graduate? I would have been class of 2000, but transferred to Berry College and graduated from there in 2000.
I went to Carson-Newman College for a semester, then left, as I was not a big fan of the college. Worked at the Bel Air Grill in Morristown for about 9 months, and took some classes at Walters State....
Welcome to the board! Where in East TN? I briefly lived in Jefferson City and Morristown in 1996-97.
Welcome! I'm sure some of our members from KY can point you to a place to find the bottles you seek.
Welcome! I'm originally from Idaho, about a half hour from Ontario, OR.
Thanks, Dave. You're right. I meant to say:
I think the 90 proof VW is the perfect introduction to bourbon, as it is excellent, sweet, mellow (and affordable!) bourbon that is NOT going to kick...
