In Ontario, the cheapest bourbon is about $23 (JBW).
Of these, EC 12 or EWSB would be my choices. It seems like HH bourbons are a little...lighter than other bourbons...
I'd rerecommend trying this with water. From your decription, it may be too high proof for you to like "straight".

The stuff goes for $179 at our state liqour stores up here (the LCBO). I've had one shot of the stuff at a bar, and I thought it was sublime, but it's not worth $179 cdn to me when Bookers can be had...
