It's funny, I often drink my bourbon with one or two ice cubes, but OGD 114 I either take neat or with a little cold water. It doesn't take ice well, to my taste.

I'm not sure I should even try to add to what squire said above but I will say this. It seems like OGD 114 is a little less hot and better balanced as of late. I can't put my finger on it exactly. ...
You may be right, squire. I am just thinking in comparison to the other Indiana ryes I have (Bulleit, Willett). I will say that the maple does add a touch of smokiness to the aroma, in a nice way. ...
I revisited this last night and it came off as sweeter than I recalled. Still very good but the maple-filter may be a double-edged sword.
I wish this were available in the Twin Cities (if it is, I've never seen it). But we get the 8 year old, 86 proof still which is some consolation.
How does the White Label compare to Fighting...
I picked up one of these yesterday for about $24. The cheapest I've seen it so far is just under $22. But on the other hand I can get Bulleit for under $20 on sale.
I have a Bulleit open at the...
Welcome, Mark. There are a few of us Minnesotans here, and all friendly. I expect they'll pop in shortly to say hello.
Welcome back!
Any plans to expand distribution to Minnesota?
You might like Eagle Rare. Not really my cup of tea but it could run in the group you've listed, it shares some things in common with them.
For something a little different I'd recommend Baker's....
Just bought a bottlenof Signature, new label. Much better than earlier examples I have had. A little corn on the nose, but buckets of brown sugar and vanilla. The palate follows the nose pretty...
$25 seems pretty high. I can ususally find it for about $17. I think that's a fair price although sometimes I choose Fighting Cock instead at the same price point. If it was over $20 I would just...
My experience is that it is good bourbon but unremarkable. Looking back on my notes I don't really see anything that stands out. The last bottle I had showed bit of a bitter edge, as I recall. I...
Well, I was wrong. My open bottle states that it was distilled at DSP-1 and bottled at DSP-31.
I will have to check when I get home. I apologize in advance if I'm spreading bad info.
Plenty of current gold in Minnesota. And yes, the white label is 6 years old.
Are you sure the bottles you're seeing are dusties? If I'm not mistaken they still bottle it at DSP-31 and maybe...
No, not that Fleischmann's. What you see around here is Fleischmann's Preferred, which is a blend. The rye is a straight rye.
Interesting. Templeton is made, as far as we can tell, at MGPI and has no corn in the mashbill.
If you like that somewhat gentler rye profile you might try to find a bottle of Wild Turkey...
Fleischman's Rye is a northeastern Wisconsin-only product. If you drive to the Green Bay game, you might find some on the way. I would avoid MGM in general because they are over priced. I've seen...
The Gold Label is a staple in my house. I've never seen the 6 y/o around here.
Come back to it after it's been open for a couple of weeks. I've had similar experiences with a variety of bourbons and this effect seems to wear off with breathing.
I'm going to ask what might be a dumb question, so bear with me. And I'm not just directing it at Tucker, anyone can jump in, please.
Would you say that there is more variation from year to year...
Welcome. There's a few of us on here, all good people.
Good to have another one from the west side (I'm in Maple Grove).
Finallly got a chance to try KCSB last night alongside Booker's. I think dbk's notes are very good, especially with regard to Booker's and Baker's.
To echo what Gary and maybe some others said...
It's no secret that EC12 can be variable. It was one of the first bourbons I bought a few years ago when I started getting back into bourbon, and the first bottle was great, second okay, third was...
Thanks, guys.
