    Re: Low alcohol bourbon

Maybe consider a lower-proof bourbon-based liqueur, like Firefly Sweet Tea or Prichard's Sweet Lucy?

Forgot to add: Wild Turkey American Honey and Buffalo Trace Cream Liqueur...

Sticky: Re: How To Get Started.

For me, starting at the bottom worked pretty well so far (I'm still on the journey). I didn't spend a tom of time there and I had enough experience with other liquors that I knew I wasn't going to...

Re: new to the forum and my first post

A couple others not yet mentioned that I like quite a bit:

    - Elijah Craig 12. Some have reported inconsistencies between bottles, but I haven't had one that wasn't good. Probably in the low...

    Re: alternatives to Buffalo Trace

Thanks, but I'll run my own risks and deal with my own consequences if it's all the same to you.

    Re: alternatives to Buffalo Trace

Wow, the bourbon_n00b actually has some newish info! I am not that much of a "road warrior" so shipping in is pretty much my only hope for a lot of things not on shelves here. Just haven't found...

    Re: alternatives to Buffalo Trace

Shoppers Vineyard, Witty's Wine, Internet Wines have shipped to me. Others may exist as well.

I really doubt this is some sort of new revelation...no?

    Re: alternatives to Buffalo Trace

Hmmm...contrary to my experience, but whatever. I guess VOB BiB ain't for me.

    Re: alternatives to Buffalo Trace

I guess, from lack of response, that this is the case? Nobody has an online source for the VOB BiB?

    Rochester.

So pretty much no real way, outside of a road trip, for me to buy any BIB?

    Re: alternatives to Buffalo Trace

Sorry bout that, just carelessness with a touch of laziness more than anything else. I'm in Michigan, same as you.

As far as I know, only the 90 proofer is available here.

    3. Old Weller Antique
    4. Old Grand Dad BIB

Re: Question about bottled in bond/100 proof

Thanks guys for the info, but I guess I am still confused about why a 101, 107, 114, 125 proof whiskey could not be labeled bonded (assuming it meets all the other characteristics). It's acceptable...

Question about bottled in bond/100 proof

    Hi:

From what I understand, to be bottled in bond, a whiskey has to be aged a minimum of 4 years (can be longer) but has to be exactly 100 proof (cannot be higher).

    Just curious as to why...

Poll: Re: Best of these 101-proofers?

Over the weekend, I got my hands on the WT and Old Ezra. To my inexperienced palate, the WT is much better. Just a lot more going on, much smoother and more flavorful.

The OE is decent but the...

Poll: Re: Best of these 101-proofers?

Well, it looks like my instinct to usually favor the smaller and lesser-known over the the more major players was off-base here. I will still probably give one of these a try sometime but I will get...

    Poll: Best of these 101-proofers?

All are available in my area, in the $15-20 range. Excuse me if I have overlooked, but I don't see much discussion of these here. Which is the one to grab, if you are grabbing only one? Comments...
