This would be the place to start, watch your wallet!
His show was actually responsible for getting me into cigars, I was already well into Bourbon. I was watching it with my wife and she said 'great, I guess that's the next thing for you then', she...
Of course I learned that tip.....here of all places!
I always give my barrel proof bottles a spin before I pour. This way you only get a little char in each glass instead of a large amount of char in the last. I cannot detect it this way.
If a good whiskey comes out of the process I'm all for it, I don't care what country it comes from.
Okay, I'll have to take your word for it. Too bad it's endangered in the States as I'd like to see what we could do with it as far as malting barley.
Peat moss or the peat they use to make a turf fire in Ireland/Scotland? Are you sure this is the same thing?
Problem is that you cannot find peat in North America. I believe the company that does do this (McCarthy's) uses peat smoked barley malt from Scotland.
They send out some offers for personalized labels and such which I think add a little something to Christmas gifts etc. Otherwise there is not much benefit if you ask me.
Couldn't agree more!
Unfortunately I'm running out of Bourbon storage in my bunker. I cannot warrant purchasing Beam White just for this test. However, next time I'm in a bar I'll give it a go.
Our game isn't enjoyed by many but dammit I'm having a great time with it!
I believe Maker's was the first Bourbon I ever drank straight as well. I found it from drinking it in a Manhattan. If it wasn't for Maker's it is safe to say I wouldn't be where I am today!!
I'll agree with most of you that I'll drink this if I want a Bourbon at a bar. I rarely ever drink this at home. However, it makes a VERY tasty Manhattan!
It's 100 Proof and six years old, the 80 is four years old I believe.
I was able to purchase a bottle of Wild Turkey 8 YO in Duty Free on my way to Ireland. It was $20 for a litre. I'll sample this weekend next to my bottle of US 101 to see if it is different. I...
If you do go for another bottle of WT I would recommend the Rare Breed over the Kentucky Spirit. That's just me though.
Well I had my glass today and I must say I love this stuff. To me it's everything a Bourbon should be. I kept it going with a glass of 101 Rye afterwards. Enjoyable but not in the same league if...
I love this stuff. It would be what I'd buy if I didn't have access to the other greats. If I was limited to corner liquor stores I'd pick this over Makers and Beam Black. However, I think this...
Well I've had this bottle for almost a year and have sampled it two times before tonight. Each time I try it I like it a bit more. Tonight it was very enjoyable, nice nose and taste. A bit of a...
Here-here!
Agreed, that picture of Pappy is inspiring!
Works for me!
I like the newer bottle because it is more narrow than the original. I can fit more bottles into my liquor cabinet this way!
