I guess I've been kind of lax in welcoming new members. I rarely look at this particular forum, but that is no excuse.

Welcome to all of our new members. This place is great. If you can't learn...
I wish I could try it. I really like the current 90 proof version. I can only imagine how good the 101 proof is.
Scotch is too expensive, I'll give you that. But, why "all in" on one type of whisk(e)y? I'm a Scotch first guy, but I love ALL whisk(e)y. Bourbon is great, no doubt, but it isn't the end all, be all...
This Pappy crap is waaayyyy out of hand. There is no whisk(e)y worth the snide comments and derisive behaviour that this shit brings out in people. Pappy is the last whiskey I would ever waste time...
:toast:
............
I seem to be in the minority, but I just don't like the yellow label at all. Single barrel and small batch are great.

I'm on record as being a big fan of EC12. I can attest to the fact that it is a variable bourbon from bottle to bottle. I've had great bottles that I wish would never go dry, and bottles that made me...
Gettin' kinda scrappy over a glass!
I'm in the camp that thinks a glass that concentrates the nose, does make a difference in taste... somewhat. I ALWAYS drink Scotch from a Glencairn or...
I really like DBS. I really dislike paying twice the cost for a whisky that "should" be 100 proof. It has a great quality to it, but it would be a lot better at a higher proof. Therfore, I don't find...
It's an addition you won't regret.
There is no comparison between Devil's Cut and Dickel 12. Dickel 12 is a very good Tennessee whisky.... especially for the price. Devil's Cut, while not bad (IMO), is not remotely close to the...
There are quite a few of "us" around here.
I guess it's mandatory that all Buckeye fans should welcome you to the forum, so.... welcome! Read, enjoy, learn.
Try adding a little water or keep on using ice, for a while. There is no right or wrong way to drink bourbon (or any other whisk(e)y). It took me a little while to get "acclimated" to drinking...
Welcome aboard. I'm a single malt scotch lover that turned to bourbon a few years ago, mostly because of the cost. I'm glad I did. I have come to really love and appreciate our native spirit; so much...
What is "fancy" Scotch?
This is one of my favorite "budget" Bourbons. I always have a bottle of this on hand.
It's a bit on the sweet side, but I like that. The 101 proof is a big plus over the 90 proof expression, IMO....
Now that I've finished a second bottle, I'll say this...I like KCSBR. I don't think it's a big leap better than the regular offering. I like that it's 120 proof and I think it does have a bit more...
Ditto. I drink a fair share of it.
Here's how I deal with the 'Pappy problem'...... I don't bother with it.
Anything that is that hard to find/get isn't worth the effort or the price. I'm sure it is great bourbon... but,...
I like the standard KC quite well. I like the SBR even better. No, it isn't a spectacular bourbon, but it is very good bourbon that I enjoy frequently.
Maybe I'm one of the oddballs that likes...
I'm not a big fan of regular MM, but I have to say that I really like the 46. For some reason, it reminds me of MaCallan 12.
My only real gripe with it is that it should be 100 proof.

I agree with your whole post... and especially the highlighted part. If I had tried the Yellow Label first, I don't think I would have spent more to try any of the others.
Ok, now that Ohio has this on the shelves, I picked up a bottle today.
I have to say that after years of Small Batch, Single Barrel and the occasional Mariage, I find this to be a very lackluster...
