Re: Hello from NJ, originally from FL

The closest thing to Blanton's you're going to find is Rock Hill Farms (if you can find one). You may also want to give the Taylor line a try. They have a single barrel and small batch that are...

Sticky: Re: BOTM 7/14: Very Old Barton 100 proof/BIB

Straight bourbon, aged six years (or so), 100 proof and roughly 10 bucks per bottle (actually saw it cheaper than that today). Ummm, yes please! I always have a bottle (or six:grin:) in the bunker!

It's gotta be the purty bottles Joe!

Seriously though, I think it works because it appeals to a market that feels that it's a clean, modern bourbon that doesn't have the stigma of an old...

Sticky: Re: BOTM 6/14: Jim Beam White

It serves a purpose. In my case, it got me through college on the cheap.

When I graduated, I swore that I'd never drink it again (among a few other things):skep:....and I haven't.

Sticky: Re: BOTM 5/14: Woodford Reserve

I agree with Squire, it used to be better. Price wise, it doesn't seem as expensive as it used to, given the rising cost of everything else. Saw it for 31 and change today and thought....well...

Re: Hello from the burbs of Nor Cal

Welcome! It would appear that your off to a good start. I would recommend OGD 114, KCSB, Booker's and WTRB, as they are for the most part regularly available and held in high regard by many here.
