The seven year old is the cheapest in that line and should be widely available. For a few bucks more, you should seek out the 10 and especially 12 year old version. It's really quite good.

Old Charter 12 year old is a sweeter bourbon that's hard not to like. Buffalo Trace is also easy to drink...as is Eagle Rare SB. While these are not wheaters, they don't have a high rye content...

I thought the white label EW was BIB, at least it is where I shop.

I used to drop a cube or two in to soften the burn a bit, but now only drink it neat. I made the switch a while back and feel I get better sensory perceptions (taste, smell, and mouthfeel) neat.

One you should definitely try is the low-end Van Winkles, Old Rip Van Winkle 10-year in either the 90 or 107 proof versions. Should be somewhere in the $22-28 range depending on proof. Excellent...

I also think Baker's is the best of the Beam small batch bourbons.

Got a bottle at the local ABC for $19.99. Very nice! I'm really enjoying this one. Pleasantly complex, without much burn. Very drinkable.
