Re: dry tests / whiskey left out

Smokingjoe, that makes good sense about dayold left out bourbon tasting acrid. I imagine the first things to evaporate are alcohol and water, leaving some mix of wood cogeners and maybe some left...

But yet my taste buds are not...

Sticky: Re: BOTM 3/14: Maker's Mark

This BOTM doesn't seem to have faired too well..

I did bring myself to acquire a bottle of MM after finding it at a slightly reduced price.
But between all the quality competitors at and below...

this is more of a drying question than a burning question.
    haven't considered burn tests..

This may seem dull of me, but has anyone done dry tests?
Say, ..allowing a small serving to evaporate...
  9. Re: [novice] Collecting.. Hoarding.. Prepping? / Lower Shelves

I think I have the elusive whiskeyrexia nervosa.

over 30 unopened bottles and all I can think about is acquiring more.

    Hey Max.

what are some whiskeys you enjoy so far?

  12. Re: [novice] Collecting.. Hoarding.. Prepping? / Lower Shelves

I find myself hooked on reading this forum. It gives me so many ideas for what to try.
trying to slow down and focus on what I like so far.
    cant tell yet if I...

  14. Re: [novice] Collecting.. Hoarding.. Prepping? / Lower Shelves

Thanks for the responses folks. I feel a bit better.
I find myself making mental lists of whiskey to pick up and peeking in or thinking of peeking in every liquor store I come across.

    It's like...

Hi BriscoGun, How do you take your whiskey?

    Thanks for sharing.
  16. [novice] Collecting.. Hoarding.. Prepping? / Lower Shelves

A novice tippler and slow drinker myself, I like to have a little more bourbon around than whatever's open.
I find myself thinking about these spirits and shopping for them maybe a little too often...
