Excellent bourbon at an excellent price @ ~$38-$48. Heaven Hill really delivered with this label.
Same here, Squire. I can't tell much difference.
I like it. If I had to choose between VOB BIB and OGD BIB I would take the VOB all day long...
Welcome (formally) and thanks for the shout out. ;) You have a most impressive collection and impeccable taste! Why don't you have the 2011 FRSmB? That is was what gave me...
It's what made me decide I liked bourbon better than any other liquor. It's a perfectly acceptable starting point and "stand-in" if need be. Great for mixing and for those who don't like strong...
Welcome and ROLL TIDE! Glad to have a Bama fan here.
Welcome CS. Wade hosts a great tasting for sure. I missed it this year myself. There are several Houston members that are very friendly and a few that are very knowledgeable (not me.) See you...
Welcome Tot. Have fun with your bourbon journey. You have come to the right place to learn about bourbon and meet some really friendly and knowledgeable people.
Tex, I still see the old paper label WSR all over the place. I can probably point you to a few stores if you want.
Pretty much. I have a couple bottles I keep around for "easy" drinking. I prefer it over Maker's (not that Maker's is bad.)
Wade is right. Houston has been picked clean of anything dusty or any popular mid-shelfers. This is just for the standard release stuff. The last time I saw any ETL was around October or November....
Cool, I didn't know that. So, that's going to be their standard mashbill? Do they have other mashbills too? Do I need to shut up and read the OP?
I enjoyed the samples you sent me and I still want an AWS glass dammit!
Nope, I haven't seen it around here either. I had some samples that were really good thanks to another SBer. I don't know if it was stuff they distilled or sourced, but it was yummy.
...explains the PBR...
...seriously though, I hope to see you posting more tasting notes. The last ones you posted were entertaining.
That info is in another thread. http://www.straightbourbon.com/forums/showthread.php?21208-Rules-for-posting-in-the-Help-A-Member-Find-A-Bottle-forum&p=382685&viewfull=1#post382685
Edit: You're about 40 miles away.
I've never been there (it's pretty far from where I live), but it seems like I've heard good things about your store. Thanks for the info.
Welcome Alex. Which store is that?
Welcome anex and see you soon.
You should be able to install Chrome and Firefox on you tablet. Go to the Google Play store and search for and then install them for free.
Just for future reference (this is Chrome, but it looks the same in IE and Firefox.)
You are describing the bottom of the web page Keith. Look further down at the edge/border of your web browser "window."
You just can't beat it for ~$18. Great taste, great proof, at a great price.
