I'd skip on Vintage Bourbon 17 and Jefferson's Presidential Select. These arent easy to come by and they certainly arent cheap.
Go with the W.L. Weller 12 heavy and Old Weller Antique mix. You'd...
I probably wouldn't require the world's smallest violin playing "My Heart Pumps Purple P!$$ for You" if I had more friends that liked Bourbon and didn't live several cities away. :hot:
...oh woe...
I did the same once. I mixed all the bourbons I had in small little parts (25 at the time) and it tasted terrible. I discovered that you really need a core whiskey to comprise at least 50% of the...
Ain't that the truth -__-. I have so much bourbon to get through it's insane.
I gave this a pour yesterday. I have EWSB Vintage 2000. The nose is light candy and some vanilla with some wood notes. The mouthfeel is surprisingly.oily considering it's 86 proof. I would have...
What's a check book got to do with a debate?
I figure...why not chime in myself. This is a rare bottle of Charter Private Reserve...and my small Esterbrook collection (I don't have a watch anymore :( ) Behind is my bar....
Sack of severed, deflated dirty balls...that even a honey badger would ignore!
I'm going to echo these statments. They really do add a layer of appreciation that was being missed in my early sippin' years. In fact I had to go back to basics with my bourbon and rediscover them...

Woe. I would say that is big news. I didn't know...
My dilemma is two-fold :(
1) I can't find any ORVW product. Ever. Even when you put your name on the list, the store managers only really want to get the PVW line and only ever receive 1 bottle...
My take on it is this:
I want the best quality and I weigh my desire against my wallet to see who wins ;)
So far, desire is winning by a long shot.
I like that. It's simple and too the point!
I have learned many lessons about assuming a whiskey or liquor is goingnto be awesome based soley on price. I have a 90 dollar Rum that is 30 years old that pales in comparison to a 30 dollar 23...
Hey there! Also a fellow Texan and I noticed you listed one of my fav scotches: Laphroaig :)
Thank you kindly!
I have a few others i like that are within the same range as the top 5, but they are not regular pours.
Such as:
Van Winkle 12yr lot B (BT juice)
Eagle Rare 17 2011...
Howdy hey to Everyone!
Just a bourbon sipper from Mesquite TX.
I started a bit late in this bourbon renaissance (about 3 years ago) but I have been quick to catch up.
Sadly, in Dallas/ TX...
