Re: Sipping rum suggestions for beginners

At present I'm not sure how much easier it is for the intermediate... but when you get a good one, it sure is wonderful.

    Re: Rum Forum

ED25 gives the "look at how much I can spend" crowd a wonderful distraction so that we can still buy the great sipping rums we love relatively unmolested.

I will always be grateful to ED25 (as...

    Re: Rum Forum

Just some of the new Hamilton Demerara 151. I'm going to start learning some classic tiki cocktails over in the UK. I have some of the older (not the good one) Mosaiq Lemon Hart 151 reproduction as...

    Re: Rum Forum

Yes, the rebottling is an option but I was hoping it wouldn't come to that.

They would be in checked luggage.

I struggle to imagine them checking the proof on each bottle they find - I think...

    Re: Rum Forum

    Hey guys,

I was wondering what your experiences were, if any, of taking 151 overproof rums on planes. The official rule is anything over 75% alcohol (what an inconvenient limit! Agh!) gets...

    Re: Rum Forum

Nicely done, Sailor22. And thanks very much for the much-needed review of the Lost Spirits situation. I've been putting off doing the test myself, figuring "what's the rush? They can make more every...

    Re: Rum Forum

Agh, would love to make it, but I'm already making the sampler... I don't think I can swing it. Spending myself out on rums lately :)

    Re: Rum Forum

I would suggest that asking what did or did not get added to our rum does is not necessarily akin to grouchiness, nor contrary to the fun of drinking/acquiring it.

After all, none of us here are...

It is a blend of two rums, one 20yr old light column still, and one 25 light pot still Jamaican.

Took me a while, but it's confirmed. Revelation Rum has no additives of any kind. Filtered loosely only to prevent barrel bits in the bottle. Good on 'em.

    Re: Rum Forum

Can't check the bottle now because I'm offshore, but I just re-scanned the COLA. You may be right, I might have my signals crossed.

It's the color you'd expect with a minimum of 20+ years aging,...

    Re: Rum Forum

    Hey Tim,

What you want is a European Pusser's, which clocks in at 109 proof. I think the US version is 92 proof or lower? They've changed it several times over here. It's a great item to have on...

Yes you still do have to worry about online ordering. You must physically accompany the bottles to get the Cuban $100 exemption, I believe.
