Sticky: Re: BOTM 11/14: Maker's Mark Cask Strength

    All of mine are (were)113.2
I'll have to look for the batch 2, and see if I can make out any difference. (Because, I'm a giver and willing to drink more bourbon in service to my fellow man).

Sticky: Re: BOTM 11/14: Maker's Mark Cask Strength

I can take or leave regular MM, but I really like the CS. I'm on my third bottle, and haven't found any of the strong corn or overly woody/hot characteristics others have noted.
    Guess i need to...

Re: New member from DC area

Welcome HOF. Have you tried the latest (lower proof) Stagg JR release?
I'd be interested in your thoughts compared to the 134.4 first release.

Re: Hi from Nashville!! And newbie question...

There are far more knowledgeable people here than me, but I'd suggest you try a few different types (Wheated or Rye mashbills) and producers to get a baseline of what you like.
    Maybe try some...

Welcome Warburton. always a good time to be had here!
  12. Re: Where / What to buy in Houston, or along drive to / from Austin?

You might be able to pick up some Balcones products in that area. Some Rumble, or maybe a stray bottle of Single Malt.
ETL was once plentiful in TX, but seems to have dried up, at least until the...

Sticky: Re: BOTM 3/14: Maker's Mark

I keep a bottle of M46 at home, and used to keep MM on hand as a good mixer, but lately Larceny has taken that spot. Like most everyone else, I do tend to fall back on MM in restaurants that suggest...

    Hello Clay.
I just read your article a few minutes before seeing your post!
  17. Suppose I should say Hello (Not Howdy) from Texas

So, I've lurked here for quite a while, and finally started posting a bit recently.

Back in high school (a year or two before I could do so legally), I fell in love with WL Weller, while most of...

Re: NewB from NJ (just had Widow Jane)

I just looked at the Widow Jane site again.
Looks like they have a new bottle for the 7-year, a long-neck bottle, as opposed to the short neck bottle I have.
They also show some new (young)...

Re: NewB from NJ (just had Widow Jane)

I recently hunted down a bottle of Widow Jane and managed to get it to Texas.
I think it's pretty good, though there are other things I like just as well that I can buy locally.
    but, you never know...
