Unfortunately descriptors can be so subjective. Based on your description I'm not surprised you were directed to the ones you mention.
Try Bakers.
Wow, sounds like it! Welcome to the board.
Wow. Great story, even better Barkeep. Welcome to the addiction.
Oh, don't worry about Todd and "getting a collection going", he's never got a problem with that! :slappin:
Welcome aboard Todd.
Go Hens! I miss the good ol' U of D.
Very well said. Bottom line: Be sure to experiment, but beyond that, Drink what you like, how you like, and to heck with the rest. :)
Try the others in the Small Batch Collection. Specifically Baker's. Knob Creek was what got me into Bourbon. Welcome aboard.
I keep looking to pick up a bottle to try, but at $19.99 most places around here it's been hard to justify pulling the trigger.
Well, hopefully it turns around for you, but if you like the ER10yr then I wouldn't be too disappointed. At least around here the ER is about $6-7 cheaper than Buffal Trace.
Good to see you hear Greg! Welcome aboard. :)
Lexst, I haven't had BT as of yet so I can't be a ton of help, but you've mentioned some pretty different tasting bourbons in your list. Is that your "what I've liked" list or "what I've tried" list?
OK, I definately recommend Baker's then. It's part of the same collection and in my opinion has alot in common with the Knob Creek. It's 3 years younger so it's a little more in your face. It's...
Like Bob said, would help to know what you liked/disliked out of the ones you tasted, or at least which ones you preferred.
If you liked the Knob Creek I'd recommend Baker's for sure. Younger...
Thanks for the tip, I'll have to do that with my Stagg.
Dredging up an old post here, hope that's nota faux pas.
After reading the recent post regarding Baker's taking the World Wiskies Award for World's Best Bourbon I decided I'd waited long enough...
While I've had luck tracking down both the ER 17 year (not a challenge really) and the GTS from 2006, I've not seen a drop of the WLW anywhere. If anyone has actually seen any in FL recently,...
FL! WooHoo!
Any news or insight into how and when the distribution of this might be expanding?
Damn! I'd clear half of that out in a heart beat. I just payed $60 down here and I can't find the stuff anywhere.
I have two things to say about this:
First. This is horrible bourbon. Immediately box it up and mail it to me, I'll be happy to pay shipping to save you from this assault on your tastebuds....
I have a bottle of this sitting in my cabinet. Being new to bourbon I got caught up in the hype of the advertising. Have to say I was disappointed. I honestly thought that was just my taste...
Good to see you here Julian!
Just another newb checking in. I'm from Tampa and started down the road with Bourbon a year or two ago with my purchase of a bottle of Knob Creek. Been hooked since. I tend to bounce back and...
