that is what you call alcohol abuse. Worlds worst for doing what you are talking about is georgia moon in the jar. You have to sip the first inch or so out of the jar, then it will pour clean.
I find that the best way to really get a sense for how good bourbon is, is to leave it in a cup with a few drops left overnight. Most of the time if it smells a little funky, it is better stuff....
Oxidation probably. Good whiskey will do it. I consider it a good way to tell a whiskeys quality. I freqently take barrel samples and put them in a solo cup maybe an 1/8 inch deep. Leave it out in my...
I bought some a while back and thought it was a great value pour, but hell, I was raised on cheap bourbon. Is this the same mashbill as AA?
Gm, is corn whiskey and tastes like it. Junior Johnson's from what I can tell is gns.
It would have to be stated as having color added. I think. I always have said it was older whiskey. it is much darker and tastes different.
It is good, if you like old fashioned good white, corn whiskey. Even though we make a lot of corn and I like our corn, and it tastes good, I still like to get a jar of GM from time to time. And in...
I think botm next month should be Georgia Moon.
JW corn, I am pretty sure is a variation of the HH corn line. It must be younger than MC. It does taste lighter, very scotch like I though. The other label is dixie dew. Only available in Alabama....
One of my favorites, and when I do drink daily now, dr's orders, I have a pour of mellow corn. Well made stuff. The smell of it is exactly what a corn fermenter smells like at it's peak of...
Thanks to a fellow member i have a sample of Fairfax county and it is indeed big bodied whiskey. Very good stuff. I would imagine a low still and barrel proof.
I am speculating here, but they probably used enough backset to get the ph just right in the cooker. Which would not have been much. And left a small amount of mash in the fermenter for the next...
I read in a whiskey book from the mid to late 80's I think it was Micheal Jackson's that the whiskey made at the old Bowman distillery was considered sweet mash, but was not. Something to do with...
Onlu had it one time, and was glad to have it then. My wife and i were on a visit to Nashville Tn, in 2001. As luck would have it, I had a kidney stone. I was 6 hours from my dr in south Alabama, so...
I have a bottle of John's bourbon. And it is a good young bourbon. A lot of mirco distilled bourbon is hard to tell it is bourbon. This is spot on.
I found it to be a lot better than regular Makers. I wonder if the whiskey benefits more from the oxidation it gets from moving out of the barrel and back, than it does from the staves put in the...
I picked up a bottle in Ky last week. Good honest bourbon. Full of that hh flavor I call grassy. Not a bad buy either. 10 bucks for a liter.
