Weller Antique is one of the best value bourbons there is. It's not to the level of WLW, but I would certainly stack it up against the other Wellers.
I ran out of Antique late in the year, and this...
I was going to stick with just WLW from this year's BTAC, but the reviews from AC Detroit & Oscar were so good I couldn't pass it up... Since then I've been going back & forth with pours from the '07...
Welcome, Brian, to sb.com! Since you are familiar with Louisville, a couple of places where you can find a good selection of bourbon here are Bourbon's Bistro on Frankfort Avenue and Maker's Mark...
Welcome to a fellow Louisvillian! There are lots of very knowledegable people here, especially the three previous guys on this thread...Any question you have about bourbon...those are some real...

Yes, Elmer T Lee is Master Distiller Emeritus at Buffalo Trace. There's a lot of helpful info about which distillery makes each bourbon and links to just about everything you'd want to know about...
Paul, Welcome! As you can see, there are many friendly people here who are eager to help. Some bourbons that people here have turned me on to are: Elmer T Lee, Weller Antique 107 and Weller...
I've only seen one AS on the shelf and that was at Red Dot, US 127 Frankfort ($89.99)... I might have gone back to get it, but on the same trip the folks at BT told me about the GTS in Lexington, so...
Mark, I took a short road trip to Bardstown today to check out the liquor stores there, since Penny is working this weekend. There are 4 in Bardstown and I would second mozilla's suggestion on...
I usually fly into BWI about 4 times a year to see my Mom and sister... I drive from Baltimore to Lancaster, PA on those trips.
Penny & I take a road trip East the first week of July every year. We...
I sure do, in fact my home office is decorated in Phillies, most of it from the 60's including the bobblehead that is my avatar on SB.com.
It's the only room in the house that Penny would let me...
Del, Welcome! It's a great bunch of people at SB.com...and a strong group, and a lot of fun people from Michigan!

Mark, Welcome! These guys have really introduced me to some wonderful bourbons in just a few months, and I know they'll do the same for you!
-Joe
RW, Welcome! I would echo the sentiments about Weller (especially Weller Antique 107) I also enjoy Old Rip Van Winkle 10 YR/107.

I like VOB a lot, and IMO it's a great value...my question is, except for the amount of Ten High you can get for the money...Is there any other advantage in buying Ten High over VOB?
-Joe

I would second Stu's opinion on Kentucky Spirit... AC Detroit recommended it to me at the Sampler & I tried it... KS is excellent.
-Joe
Welcome...I'm a relatively new member too...and these are a bunch of fun, helpful guys...if you ask just about anything...someone will have an answer for you quickly.
Some of the bourbons they've...
Spun-Thanks for the great info, I will take it to the guys at work tomorrow. Are you going to the Sampler next weekend?
-Joe
Spun - Since we have at least 2 or 3 bourbon fans at my workplace that idea may have promise... Just a couple of questions...Where's a good place to find bottles to decant the portions for each guy? ...
Good analogy, I work right next to Cunningham's and lots of folks where I work buy their lunch there. Anything from The Brown would have to be ten times as good as Cunningham's but particularly...
Thanks...only thing is, my friend's wife is pregnant and is due May 7th, so we'll have to play it by ear... The only restriction he gave her was "You can't have the baby on Derby Day"
