Picked up El Dorado 8yr recently and think it's pretty good. A nice sipper and a bargain at the pricepoint around here ($30).

I really enjoy the Appleton Master Blenders Legacy which is $90 here. El Dorado 21yr is the best rum I have had to date. I agree the price of the 12yr at 30-$35 is a great buy.

I'm not sure the source of this, but it was post on the facebook ministry of rum page. The Government in Finland tests the sugar levels in rums...which ones have a little something added.

I find that Mount Gay Eclipse is a pretty good mixer. It's close to the cheapest rum in my cabinet that I enjoy mixing or sipping neat.

Sounds like a good rhum Alphanumeric. I have never tried an agricole rhum before. Hoping one day it will be available in my area.

I have heard a Kracken and Coke is good (i never tried it). I'm not a big fan of any spiced rum.

ED12 is one of the best deals compared to other rums here. ED 12 is $33, RZ23 is $80, and ED15 is $60. Appletons 12yo the other reasonable buy at $38.

    Re: Rum Forum

I tried to combine a very small amount of Angostura 1919 8yr (which I like, but does have a bit too much vanilla), and the Angostura 1824 12yr (which is more expensive, and a different profile not...

For xmas I got a bottle of Admiral Rodney XO. Here this is the same price as RZ 23 and very hard to find. I like it better than the RZ 23, being not quite so sweet. I also tried Mount Gay Eclipse,...

    Re: Rum Forum

Lots of rums are aged in bourbon casks, and have delicate vanilla notes. I do find the sometimes vanilla notes do get stronger with time when bottles are open for a bit.

Between the two Angostura rums I tried...I prefer the 1919 (8yr) over the 1824 (12yr). It's quite a bit cheaper too. The Doorly's XO was good too. Wasn't sure if I would like the sherry influence,...

I picked up 8 of the mini packs...all had the 21 full. Was the seal broken? If not I guess a manufacturing issue. The 12yo here is $36, the 15yo is $60, the SB EHP is $100, and the 21yo is $110. ...

  24. Re: I just dumped a bottle of EC12 down the drain

EC 12 is not too much money so all is not lost. This batch thats woody and bitter might make a good mint julep. It wouldnt be overly sweet and the ice would knock the unpleasant tastes out too I...
