What's this? Bourbon lottery?
Welcome RK. Are you an employee of the university by any chance?
I'm about 120 minutes south of you, in Ocoee. It's good to see another Floridian here.
I'm like you, new, have a small bunker...
Well they should. Keep trying!
ABC will do tastings with anything in the store. That's how I found out about Weller. I got to taste the 7 year old, and the 12.
I bought the 12, but the 7 was...
ABC and Total Wine have the best selection here. We have two Total Wines now, one downtown, and one by the new Millenium Mall.
Welcome. I'm south west of you, in Ocoee.
Florida is definitely a wine and beer state, but good bourbons are becoming more available here.
I spent a good deal of my wayward youth in NE Ohio, and have been to IL, MI, WI, etc. I envy you guys that live up in the northern midwest.
It's beautiful in the summer and fall, and the people...
Same price here in central FL.
Well you live in the right place to be here, that's for sure.
Welcome!
The BIB is not bad either, but the 114 really stands head and shoulders above it, IMHO.
I also find there to be a large difference between the two.
They don't taste anything alike to me.
Or not. It still seems to be up in the air.

They are still making it.
They also make an 81 proof (watered down 101) and there was a rumor that they were stopping the production of the higher proof for a while.
Let us know how you like that one. Everyone seems agree that it is a fine rye.
You have already sampled some of the best.
Look for Wild Turkey 101, Wild Turkey Rye 101, George Dickel 12, George Dickel Rye, and Old Grand Dad 114.
 Join the club. Oh sorry, you already have.
Welcome! What bourbons are commonly available over there?
That's how much the 100 proof usually sells for here.
I found some for $15.47 here though, so I'm happy.
Welcome!
I've been to Hilton Head a few long weekends.
I'd say we do. I teach English, though. You seem more like a numbers guy to me.
Welcome. I am new here as well. I didn't even lurk, just joined after reading some of the posts here one day and seeing the breadth and depth of knowledge and experience here.
One question, what...
I just got my first bottle. OGD 114 virgin no more.
My first impression is Wooooooo this is one hot bourbon!
The alcohol really smacked me in the face, then as the burn slowly subsides all...
I think I will pick up a bottle of this in the next couple of days.
I finally found it at the local wine and spirits superstore, for a whopping $25.00!
Thank you.
I'm taking it easy right now, thinking about how good that WT101 is gonna taste in a few days. :)
This just in...
I have an odious and pernicious sinus infection, so I have to lay off the bourbon for a few days.
This sucks.
Carry on.
:slappin:
I would do that... but I'm one of those scotch guys too!
I only joined here about a week ago and my knowledge base about bourbon has grown about 10X thanks to you rummies!
Thanks a lot. I'm afraid I might be turning into a bourbon connoisseur someday...
