Re: Bourbon in Toronto, Canada

I haven't tried the K/S bottling but will say that while the JDSBs
can vary a bit in taste, most aren't half bad. If you like JD, you
may want to consider picking one up as the "private" picks do...

Re: Very Low-End Bourbon

Call me a glutton for punishment but when I read a statement like
the above, it makes me want to try it just to see if it's that bad.
(Not that I'm doubting - I'm sure it's bad - I'm just...

Re: BOTM 9/11: Yellowstone

You can still use the "Insert Image" button - when you hit reply,
it's the fifth from the right (little square "mountain" button) - but
a URL is needed for posting images that way.

Re: Hello from Los Angeles

Hey Reg,

According to the RVW facebook page, the CA allotment shipped
on April 11 so you might wanna put out some feelers if you're really
interested. Don't be afraid to "settle" for the PVW...

Re: New Member from Buffalo

Add Weller Special Reserve to the list as well!

Welcome Nick. I'm from WNY as well - just a little north of you
and agree with dbk that Buffalo does have a decent selection,
especially for $50....

Re: New Guy Doing a Nutty Taste Test

Maybe offer up some of your notes on the ones you sampled during your
test or buy something new and let us know what you think of that.

Stick around for a while - you might come to like it here!

Re: New Guy Doing a Nutty Taste Test

Agreed! Thanks for sharing, Ron.

Most interesting to me - the JDSB came in tied for 1st in round 2
but came in last in the finals. Did any of your participants offer
any comments afterward?
12. Re: Care to critique my order of bourbon/whiskey samplers?

I have ordered Drinks by the Dram mainly for what nblair says:

to...
13. Re: BOTM 2/11: Old Rip Van Winkle 10 yr 107 proof

It's a variation of Herb Tarlek on WKRP when asked what he was doing
pouring something from one bottle into another - "Aging Scotch."

In your post #59, it looks like you forgot to include the
after
foxflyer5's text. If you hit the quote button and then start your reply
after the
, you should be good.

Re: Where to go next?

I guess the obvious answer would be Maker's 46 (94 proof).
There is a nice thread on that one here if you'd like to read

Other than that, I agree with hectic on the OWA.

Re: New Guy Doing a Nutty Taste Test

Assuming availability isn't a factor, maybe toss a Rye into the

I was at one of these this past wknd. I found 4 bottles of Weller
