Re: BOTM, 6/07: Jim Beam Black

Ditto on not being one of my favorites but a good solid drink for the price.

Re: What's is your daily Pour?

My daily pour is what I decide at the time I walk up to my bar. I have many bottles open and like to be able to have a variety of choices. I have 4 or 5 favorites that I may drink a little more often...

Re: Need some advice from those "in the know"

Welcome to the board Russ and happy hunting with your venture into tasting new bourbons. I would like to recommend Elmer T. Lee or WL Weller 12yr as a start to your quest. Evan Williams Single Barrel...

Re: BOTM 4/07: William Larue Weller

I have been a fan of Weller products since I have started drinking bourbon. The Weller 12yr and Centennial are two of my favorites. The WLW 06 is the cream of the crop, the icing on the cake and my...

Re: Which Bourbon to Choose after 18 Months?

Starting with an ultra clean palate such as yours the EWSB should be the one you would like from the start. After a couple weeks of conditioning the Turkeys would be my choice maybe with an ice cube...

Re: BOTM, 2/07: Pappy Van Winkle 20yo

Isoflex I am with you. I prefer the Lot B 12yo over the 20 and the 15. Also I haven't been that impressed with the whole Van Winkle line. I haven't tried my 23yo yet so I will give it another chance....

Re: BOTM, 2/07: Pappy Van Winkle 20yo

The Pappy 20 is mighty nice and I always enjoy it but I really prefer the 12 year Lot B. You can get two bottles of Lot B for what one of Pappy 20 costs.

Re: New to this site and Bourbon

Welcome to the board BigT. George T. Stagg might be a little rough for a new bourbon drinker but the Buffalo Trace is a good start. I would like to suggest Elmer T. Lee and W. L. Weller 12yo as a...

Since most of my taste buds are gone from all the hot sauce I have had over the years I am going to save what few taste buds I have left for the good stuff and pass on this months selection.

I have had a few pours of this fine bourbon this month and like the full maturity of the flavor. I hate that I really like this because it will not be available in the future.

The gunfighter walked up to the bar for one last drink before he had to go out to meet the sheriff for the showdown. "Give me a shot of your best whiskey" he said as he only had a few minutes before...
