As a matter of fact, I DO have Basil Hayden open on the bar (long story).
MM to me is the optimal bourbon to drink when you're out at a bar because it's often the only one available or identifiable. I never buy it by the bottle, because like Oscar said, there's lots better...

I too often smell that acetone smell at first, but I figure it's just my nose's interpretation of strong alcohol. It doesn't impede my enjoyment.

Hard times folks, but I hear prosperity is just around the corner.
I have been to Slows and it is very good. That was before I was a bourbon drinker, though, so I can't comment on that part of the menu. Definately try to find a time to go there!
