I can't speak for the Small Batch but can on the Single Barrel and it's some good stuff. Also, try some Rock Hill Farms. A similar flavor but subtle.

Ryan, I hope the following is helpful. And, welcome to the board.
Buffalo Trace
W.L. Weller 7 year old 107 proof - Wheated
Buffalo Trace - Rye'd
W.L. Weller 12 year old - Wheated...
I was about to suggest stickying this to the top. Hopefully the Modship agrees.
Mark
Thanks, Pops. Have a great weekend too.

Spun, I bought that last year and it was good.
Tipped, just when I thought my wounds were healed.
The way I look at it, football is football. It's fun to watch just so long as you don't get cuaght up in it too much. It was a fun year. The...
Welcome, Callmeox. Glad to see you aboard.
Here are some recommendations. I've grouped them according to type of bourbon and/or similar flavor:
Wheated Bourbon:
Pappy Van Winkle 15 year...
Tipped, welcome to the board.
There certainly is a wealth of knowledge here, like you mentioned. Definitely use the search function to find anything that you're looking for. Also, a number of us...
Same to you, Pops.
Hey, if you ever need a guinea pig to sample some bourbon, let me know.;)
Mark
Gottcha, Gov.
Okay, then hit up on some Van Winkles: Old Rip Van Winkle 10 year/107 proof, Van Winkle Family Reserve 12 year (Lot B), Pappy Van Winkle 15, 20 and 23 year olds.
Also, try...
Gary, great post.
Regarding the Pure Kentucky XO, I grabbed a bad bottle and didn't like it. It was super sweet. But, I heard there are good bottles to be had too.
Anyway, I like your line...
Pops, there very well could be a release of Four Roses outside the US. I wouldn't put that past Four Roses or any distillery. I know a few, if not all, distilleries still release certain bourbon that...
Will, Four Roses is currently in the US market. I may have misunderstood you. And they certainly do make a "mean" bourbon. The Four Roses Single Barrel is excellent.
Mark
Flash, welcome to the site.
Four Roses is now offered in other parts of the US but not sure exactly where. However, it's definitely now sold outside of Kentucky and growing.
If you like Elijah...
Welcome to the board, Gov.
I would say try some traditional bourbon. Maker's is a wheated bourbon which you found overly sweet. As a result, I'd say stay away from wheated bourbon, i.e., Old...
Welcome to the site, Will.
Unfortunately, I cannot help you out with this since I know of not one contact in the bourbon world. Though, if I had to suggest a distillery for you to work through,...
That's cools, Spun. This will be our third child. We have a three and four year old.
Scott,
Congratulations!!!! That's awesome!!!!
My wife is due on April 12th. Not too far away!!!!
Mark
Scott, so sorry to hear of the loss of your son.
Thanks for the information. It sounds like I may have to get my brother (lives in Wayland) over to your place to pick up some bourbon this Friday.
Mark
You have 100 bourbons on the shelf?! Wow!!!! The one time I visited your store (Julio's?), I liked your selection but do not remember 100 different bottles of bourbon. Or, perhaps you mean 100...
I would certainly agree. I think the Weller Antique is a heck of a bourbon. However, its flavors are very mellow, so I don't know that I'd appreciate a lower proof version.
Well, welcome to the dorkhood.
Just about everyone is pretty cool on this site. There is a chat, not sure if you're aware. It's called "The Gazebo." You will see it with all the forum links,...
Surely, I was jesting. But I'm sure you've heard the saying: Many true words are said in jest.
There are a few females peppered about this board in a sea of salt.
Me thinks you're...
I don't remember my introductory thread getting this much attention. It just goes to show I should have signed up as a female.
