HP 12 yr. Still one of the best SM in the market.
Killed off a few yesterday... Mclelland's Islay Single Malt, Glendower 8yr, and a Bowmore 12.
Whisk(e)y - a bargain at any price !!!
Drinking the last of my Laphroaig Quarter Cask right now. Not for the timid, but I really enjoyed this bottle. I will likely buy Laphroaig again to continue to explore this brand (might as well, I am a proud owner of a square foot of their land).

A few nights ago, I finished off my bottle of "Hedonism", by Compass Box, one of the new wave of small batch Scotch blenders.
Hedonism, if you don't already know, is 100% Grain Scotch Whisky, distilled in a Coffey still from Maize and the occasional Wheat. There are only a dozen or so Grain Scotch distilleries still in operation in all of Scotland (as opposed to the 100 or so Malt Scotch distilleries currently in operation). Grain scotch, like the Grain spirits in Irish Whiskey, are usually blended with the malts to add lightness and sweetness.
In Hedonism, the blend is a vatting of spirits from about a half dozen distilleries. The vast majority of the spirits in the vatting had already been aged for more than 20 years.
I think it was pretty gutsy of Compass Box to do such a product, as Grain Scotch Whisky doesn't really get noticed amongst the plethora of Malt Scotches out there. The flavor is quite distinct, with tasting notes of Vanilla Cream and treacle Toffee, with a touch of clove and allspice.
Wonderful stuff. I had to cross state lines to get it. I will definitely have to do so again!

We put a Glengoyne 10 y.o. down the other day. What a shame. Liter size, too. It lived fast, died young and made a good lookin' corpse.
Man, that was tasty...no smoke, no peat, just honest wholesome goodness. I'll bet it was chock full of malted barley vitamins.![]()
Peace, ... and Hippy Love.
Killed an Islay Mist 8 tonight. Got a backup earlier in the day. A few days ago I also finished off a Talisker 10. Love that one but the price just keeps going up. $70 good? maybe.

In the past couple weeks, a bottle of Macallan CS and Abelour A'Bunadh (forgot the batch number). Drank them side-by-side most of their lives, but could never decide which I preferred.
Highland Park 15.
Not at all like the 12 but still very good.
