The only color that's named after a liqueur is Chartruese. I've been experimenting with this wine based, high proof, green monster recently.
With 130 spices its a powerhouse of flavors.
Its also got a big dose of sugar.
So I decided to make an herbal Manhattan using Chartreuse.
It comes out to be a a Frankenstein cocktail that's somewhere between a Manhattan and a Sazerac.
Pour a 1/4 oz of Green Chartrues into a shaker and swirl. Discard!!!
Add one cup of crushed ice.
Add 2-3 oz High Rye Bourbon Whiskey (OGD 114)
Shake vigorously and strain into a chilled Martini Glass.
Garnish with a Mint Leave.
So let's call it a Sazhattan or Charzerac.
