looking for a good wheated (but not super sweet) bourbon

I just bought my first bottle of Weller 12 and I am in love. It is quickly moving up my list of favorite pours and I am not a huge fan of Weller Special Reserve.

Don't want to speak for Chuck but I'd consider Pappy a 'limited' release. But of course all todays Van Winkles are wheaters except for the Rye.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone. I'll pick up one or two of these next time I'm in Kentucky in a couple of weeks (haven't seen these varieties at home.)

I've read nothing but good things about the Pappy products so I might have to save up a little bit to get one of those.

I would recommend Weller Antique 107 or Weller 12. You can't go wrong with Van Winkle but I'd recommend PVW 15.

I'm a rather new boubon drinker, but I've learned a lot from the fellows on his forum.

After I tried a wheated bourbon for the first time my taste buds were in love. My favorite - Old Weller Antique 107. I drink it neat from a 12oz snifter and a double shooters worth lasts me all evening.

My home state of Oregon does not have the full spectrum of bourbons that you can find in Ky or Tn, so I can't really comment on all the wheated bourbons, but see my reply to a post on how my day went today: http://www.straightbourbon.com/forum...ad.php?t=11031
