see this topic. Also, whiskey does not age in the bottle. So if is what crap whiskey 50 years ago, it is still crap today. If it was good whiskey 50 years ago, it may be OK to drink now if it was stored properly. Is this bourbon whiskey? Where was it distilled?

Without tasting it first, I would say the value is very low.

Would it by any chance be that right there? If so, it doesn't look like it was stored in optimal conditions.

According to the label photo on the ebay site, it's a blend of young and almost young whiskey with a lot of ethanol filler.

    60% GNS
    11% 5yo
    25% 6yo

    and...
    wait for it...

    4% 7yo!!!!!!!
This was mixer stock when it was new.

Still, who did make this whiskey? I can't see any helpful city or other info on the label. It may have made really good sours or Manhattans for people who wanted a more neutral flavor than bourbon or rye. But why a member of this forum would try to avoid bourbon or rye, I don't know.

That is most likely One Of The early Hallers from Publicker when they got that Name as Long as I remember Haller's Name belonged to us! Since it just says Phila I can't tell for sure but If it is a 1949 Bottle it was one of Ours done in Phila at Bigler Street! Looks like a forunner to Our Hallers SRS Blended. I will ask the Man I talk to who helped run Publicker if Hallers was our brand always as I am not sure. Anyway too much Money For Blended, if It were the Hallers County Fair Bourbon like I have that old would have been Ok as BIB 100 Proof and very good tasting Whiskey!
Just would be good not changed from the years if out of the light would be Fine.

One of the decedents now lives in Austin, I plan on talking with him after the holidays and will ask him... or maybe just tell him about this forum.
