We've been through this exercise before but my thoughts of late warrant bringing it up again.
What do we really want to see and what would we part with our hard won green to have, as far as a special Bourbon is concerned.
Is a small batch Blanton's too far out of question ? It probably would be for BT . Why step it down when you can play so well at the top. So screw that. Who besides Linn has the dough for a Single Barrel Knob Creek? I'd go for that. While I'm on the subject of the great whiskey mill at Clermont. I would like to see them bring out a small batch Old Taylor ( don't screw with the present product it is Okay) Maybe also in 20 years they could re elevate old crow to more than it is Then again we may never see a single barrel there. ( I guess Single Barrel must not be in their business model)
Barton could jump in on any level they would like and probably be well received ( small batch , Single barrel)
I would like to see a developement of Nostalgia labels , Have a little better whiskey in them and tell the history of it more. ie Jts Brown , TW Samuels etc, Probably me and 4 other people would like that!
Brown-Forman will enjoy success with the Birthday Bourbon but at 600 bottles it won't produce enough money to restore another distillery . However can we expect a Single Barrel Old Forester in 5 to 10 years?
VanWinkle , nothing to ask here except maybe that Buffalo Trace can scorch mash in the same manner as Stitzel-Weller.
4 Roses , maybe nothing to wish for here if they'd just sell us enough whiskey so as to form an opinion.
Please expand or detract at will . I'm sure I've overlooked something , It will only take a flash for the folks on this forum to make this interesting!
