what's in your bourbon notebook -aka- the best of SB.com?

what little nuggets of bourbon and rye knowledge have you saved from here (or elsewhere I suppose) for your own bourbon notebook/bible/etc - such as debunked myths or excellent descriptions of xyz, and from who/where did you glean them?

for instance, Chuck's recent comments on Bourbon vs Tennessee... it's the best no-bullshit description I've ever heard or read on the subject; such a knowledgeable and interesting guy too, that is - if you ignore that whole "let's make up some fake bourbon" thread...

jokes aside, anyone want to share their favorite gems of SB.com goodness that you've saved for your own collection?

The first set of info I collected and used were pics of dusty bottles. They sure do make hunting easier after studying them. Thanks to the early posters who sent in pictures of their finds.

Fantastic material. I refer to them often. As a matter of fact, they're getting a little worn. I'll be needing to make more copies. On second thought, no. The wrinkled pages, bourbon stains, and discoloration give them even more character.

I don't print anything out, but I constantly refer back to posts by Chuck BarTurtle and others. It's amazing how many times I've been googling for information on a distillery or a bourbon and the only place with any useful information is something from the forum. It's really the only place I trust, what with the amount of bourbon misinformation out there.

I have to agree with sku all my info and most everything I have learned and know about bourbon comes from this and other websites and going to the distillerys themselves. So as of now you all can be sure that anything I have I have picked up off this site.

I've learned so much from this forum. As a complete newbie, basic discussions on things like wheat v. rye, aging and proof, availability, distillers, and bourbon history have really been helpful. As I become better informed, I want to start focusing a little more on tastings and evaluations.
