Don't have open nary a bottle of the old good stuff. Do recall my Dad getting irritated when the VVV Old Fitzgerald got up to $12.00 a fifth.

    About 26 total:

    9 - 1979 OW 107
    4 - Weller Cent
    6 - Weller 12 (old label)
1 - Old Fitz BIB (Thanks Greg)
1 - Rebel Yell (Old label)
    3 - Early 90's OW 107
    2 - Old Fitz Prime UD 1.75's

The Rebel Yell has been vatted with one of the 90's OW 107 - very tasty.

I'm going to pick up a couple of 1998 liters of OW 107 that a store is holding for me when I get paid.

Re: How many bottles do you own of Stitzel-Weller bourbon?

Maybe 25 bottles...I've never counted., But it's about 25 more bottles tha I had before I was bitten by the hunting bug.

    In reference to:

A liquor store near me has two, one-liter bottles of Old Fitzgerald Prime Bourbon, 86 proof. They say distilled and bottled in Louisville, Jefferson County, Kentucky. On the bottom of the bottle is the number 42.

It has a government warning, and the UPC is 8850822440. The bottom of the bottle says 95. Before, I only had what info the store attendant would give me.

I would have guessed a 1995 OF Prime was 80 proof. Anyone know when they made the switch from 86 to 80?

Proof cuts tend to coincide with increases in the Federal Excise Tax (FET). Since the FET is based on alcohol content, cutting the proof allows the producer to absorb the tax increase without raising the price. The last two FET increases were in 1985 (to $12.50) and 1991 (to $13.50). Although I don't know when OF Prime went from 86 to 80, I agree that it probably was earlier than 1995.

    2 x ORVW 15 L'Burg

1 x Lot B (I am assuming SW since I got it awhile ago)
    1 x Willet 27 year barrelproof

Re: How many bottles do you own of Stitzel-Weller bourbon?

I don't know when it went down to 80 and replaced the 86 either but my guess is that maybe they were offering it alongside the 86 for a while because I have a decanter from 1977 that is filled with 80 proof OF Prime. I guess maybe this one could have been done special for the decanter though, every now and then I do see seemingly random variations under the OF name. (ie. VVOF @ 14 years and 19 years, Old Fitz 101, etc...)

Just 3....a handle of Old Fitz BIB in the cupboard and two more in the bunker. I wish they'd save that still.

1 Old Fitz BIB Monticello Decanter from 1968
1 W.L. Weller SR From the late 80's
    1 PVW 23
    1 PVW 20

I would count my 7 bottles of Jefferson PS but due to a thread in another section of the board I don't know if I am allowed.
