I found myself in NH yesterday doing the first hike of the year . . . hiked 5.7 miles up two different mountains!
The famously cheap NH Liquor store was running a "spend $75 get a $10 gift card" promo so I spent double that -- I picked up a handle of Sailor Jerry for the wife, two current Rare Breeds, my first Evan Williams SB 1998 and an Elijah Craig 18yr barreled on my Dad's 30th birthday. I threw a couple minis in there & it made for a good little haul, and now I have $20 in gift certificates burning a hole in my pocket.

I bought this gimmicky bad boy scant minutes ago at the Highland Park, IL Binny's. I kind of don't even care if it's good or not...![]()
Oh what the flippin' crap? I just noticed this is a 375ml bottle. Oh well, it's good (kinda sweet) and I'm happily buzzing so that's what counts!
I went to the Sampler with the idea of just picking up a few everyday pours, and not specifically looking for the rare/high dollar items. So, I came home with this:
1 Rebel Reserve
2 AAA 10 yrs
1 Ezra Brooks 101 7 yr
1 ETL
1 Old Fitz BIB
1 BIB 6 yr Heaven Hill Old Style Bourbon (BTW, this an EXTREMELY dark and stellar bourbon. A steal at $10.99)
1 JTS Brown BIB
1 Wasmund's Rye Spirit
1 Old Forester Signature.
1 VWFRR 13 yr
1 Lot B
2 07 Stagg
1 CGF WT12 (in trade)
Hopefully, this will keep me set for a while.

While in West Virginia for the funeral this weekend, I ran up to Morgantown and checked out the University. The liquor store on campus had a bunch of Rittenhouse Rye 100 proof $14 each so a grabbed a few, since we can not get it in Michigan.

Picked up a bottle of Weller 12 over the weekend. It's good, but I think from trying it and other wheaters recently, I can offically say that I am more of a 'rye guy'.
