    KBF first time!!! Any tips...

To all who have previously attended the Kentucky Bourbon Festival, I need some advice, tips, etc....

This is my seminal visit and will be in attendance Friday eve. Obviously the hotels are full but I believe there are shuttles running to other locales....Any tips on where to stay, eat, purchase bourbon, etc????

Cant wait to enjoy bourbon and jazz

As always, thanks in advance for the replies....

Indy, Do you have any idea where you'll be staying? My wife and I found out about the KBF two years ago. It was about a month before the festival. Closest place we found was twenty+ miles away in Sheperdsville. (Don't stay at the Days Inn there!) I'm not sure about what shuttle service is available. That might only be to and from the special events, from the hotels in Bardstown. Are you going to be there Saturday too?

Other than the usual fast food or chain places, Kurtz and Kresco's are a couple of decent places to eat.

The only two liquor stores I've been to are Toddy's and Liquor World, but there are a couple others IIRC.

As far as coming to the gazebo, like DeanSheen said, bring a glass and a bottle.

Hope this helped a little. Joe

Try Elizabethtown to stay. It's about 20 minutes or so from Bardstown.

Hey fellas....thanks for the advice so far...

I'm hoping to stay in Elizabethtown and will definitely bring a bottle and glass. I really want the lowdown on what to expect with my bottle and glass but maybe its better I just let it all play out........HHMMMMM, now what bottle to bring

Check the week before the KBF for cancellations in Bardstown. You'll get in somewhere.

If you cant find anywhere real close to stay, try the Breckinridge Inn in Louisville...That would only be a 40 minute ride out Bardstown Road into Bardstown,or you can go 65 South and get off at Bernheim Forest and cut over..not too much difference timewise...the festival is fun..Lots to do and see...Have fun..

    Instructions for KBF:

    #1. Bring a bottle
#2. Bring a glass (or two)
    #3. Bring yourself ( )
    #4. Enjoy!

Hope to see you there. We'll be getting the gazebo in gear Tuesday night. Joe
