Turkey Heaven now, that's right, I'm doing a pour of Wild Turkey 86.8 proof circa late '70's or early '80's.

I never drink my whiskey this way any more, but I took a rocks glass, filled it to overflowing with ice and poured some of that AA BIB over it -- delightful!
I'm really enjoying it! I'm even considering a beer back.
Goes to show there's a way that works for almost everything.

4RSB 2009 and Bulleit, 50/50 in my 1960's fluted-bottom JD rocks glass, two cubes. This is the perfect use of both whiskeys. The result is a harmonious sweet spicy whiskey with the balance point (of age, proof, 4R house character) just perfect.

A little EC12 tonight. Not enjoying it as much as I used to. Still some fine whiskey though. Hopefully this pour will benefit from a little more time in the glass.
Cheers!
This 4R Mariage discussion has me all hacked off. I opted for 3 bottles of the 09 Anniversary and I'm not that taken by it, I actually liked the Toddys Selection better, and now I'm reading how good the Mariage is. Ugghhh!
Tonight, RITT Bib, OWA nas, OWA nas.

I really liked the AA BIB, actually. I didn't find it pedestrian, so much as delicate and refined for a BIB. I have the same view of the AAA 10 which has subtle charms that take a bit of time to appreciate. If you're looking for big, bold flavors then Ancient Ancient Age 10 and Ancient Age BIB won't fit the bill. But honestly, I found myself nosing the glass ten minutes after finishing my last pour of the BIB because I was really digging the sweet cherry/vanilla aroma that still lingered when I was done drinking it.
