Buffalo Trace too new and many Jack collectors around. I know 2 men with a covered trailer tried to hit every liquor store in SC and GA, maybe other states, several years ago buying nothing but JD. One of my favorite stores had a lot of JD 90 and 86 and they cleaned it out. The owner said the trailer was full.

I need to do this, except substituting JD for well-aged rye and covered trailer for tractor trailer.

IIRC, distilleries were doing just about anything during the glut to drive sales. One of them was selling bottles of water from the distillery as an add-on to whiskey sales. The idea was that using the same water as the distillery was superior to adding your own. Some others, including JD, were doing this as well. I bought the bottle just because I'm a Weller geek.

Eric: I've considered having some Indy SBers over to help lower the number but am having trouble finding a good date before the move. I'll definitely let you know if I can figure it out!

Thanks for the compliments, everyone. Restricting myself from adding any more bottles to the open shelf has been a struggle, but diving back into them after the move will be so sweet!

I've also been trying to reduce the number of open bottles I have so there's less to pack. Recently departed bottles include WTKS, CEHT Tornado and SmB, EWSB '00, WTR101, OEB 7yr, and JBB.

Very impressive bunch of open bottles. I love to see this collections being enjoyed.

Apparently a product marketed in Texas for a time, it's demineralized water from the same water source used for distilling Weller, so basically S-W water, for your Weller bourbon and branch. Props to T Comp, whose original post on Whisky Advocate was the source of my info on this bottle. Nice collection Brian!

I'm game, as long as I get to ride in the back, in the trailer, to protect the bottles from the inevitably bumpy road we'll be traveling. You know, to minimize losses
