Ok Oscar, Bob, Josh....I'm out of the crowning business! Congrats to the three of you on your diligent efforts and fine collections. More so because you actually enjoy them.

Most impressive Oscar! What were the details on the SB you and Tony did?The older bottles of the FR you have are a beautiful display pieces to say the least and your hoard of 09 Marriage ain't bad either.

Just returned from our annual trip to the Red River Gorge with this inventory. Old Scout 6, 10, and Rye were the favorites. ER17 wasn't bad either and a couple took a swing at Staff Jr.

Tony aka ACDetroit was asked by the owner of the Throughbred Shop in Lexington, KY if he'd like to come along and help pick a barrel for his store.
He also said to bring someone else along who knows bourbon and Tony asked me.
It came down to 2 barrels, Sal the store owner and his wife chose a different one than what Tony and I chose.
Cliff aka Barrel_Proof was along too and he liked the one Tony and I chose and he helped us lobby for our choice and we got it.
What Tony and I got had the sticker on it and the rest had the Throughbred Shop ID on it.
Sal no longer owns the store, that was 5 years ago.
Below is a pic of Jim Rutledge and me in April 2012 on another barrel pick.

It's always interesting to trace the history on some of these picks and see how they've come to be.I've never been part of the tasting panel on a barrel pick but I hope to this spring with a local store I think it will be a rather enjoyable experience on my end and thanks for the input.
