Re: What you can't get in your area

I find Van Winkle products hard to locate here in CT. I've seen one bottle of Lot B, which I bought, and that's been it. I have also never seen a Weller 12.

Mine are WT Rye, RHF, OWA 7/107 and Lot B
All of these I can special order but none of them can I just go to the store and pick up.
I found a manager at a store near my work who searched the VA database for me to find out what stores near me had Lot B in stock. This saved me from calling a ton of different places. If you go in with the catalogue number and find a nice store manager willing to help, perhaps they can look for it for you.

Good luck finding that. Only a small trickle will roll out from what I hear. Though stranger things have happened.

I don't have the time to type up this post and you don't have the time to read it.

I'm hoping someone from Washington State will see these posts and take pity on me after Thanksgiving when their next batch is scheduled to be bottled. Has Binny's seen any of their whiskey? I know they have the Gin and Vodka in stock.

Good God... how does anyone from a control state even gain an interest in good bourbon? It would be like being fed Purina monkey chow your whole life....you wouldn't know what real food tastes like.

It would almost be easier to tell you what I CAN get. But to answer your question, a few favorites not sold in Alabama's ABC stores are:

    OGD BIB
Weller 107 (actually anything Weller; I've yet to try 12)
    ORVW 10
    ETL
    Sazerac Jr
    WT Rye
    Rittenhouse BIB

And while it's neither bourbon nor rye ... Plymouth gin.

Living in a control state is the suxxor, fershure.

I got the St Louis blues, I'm blue as I can get.
I sent Louis to the liquor store, and he ain't come back yet.
