Which vintage Stagg is this?

I purchased 6 bottles of George T. Stagg on a Kentucky trip sometime around 2003-2004. They each have a small oval sticker close to the neck indicating that it was the 2002 American Whiskey of the year. Gold marker indicates they are all 68.8%, or 137.6 proof.

Is it safe to assume this is the 2003 bottling?

The 2002 American Whiskey of the Year was the 2002 George t Stagg. Only those bottles got the sticker. The proof is also correct for that year.

My notes have 2002 at 137.6 and 2003 at 142.7 proof. I think this is correct. tim

But if you would rather have a 2003 or other year of Stagg, I'll gladly trade you for the 2002.

Thank you for the replies and PM's. I should have searched for Stagg with the proof #'s instead of just Stagg, vintage, etc.

I'm sorry but they're not available for trade or sale. I went through considerable effort to find them as I drove through Kentucky in 2003 and I was aware of their precious standing at that time.

I guess the cool & dry storage does do the trick since the levels are not down at all for the unopened bottles.

I went through Kentucky that year and bought them at a Liquor Barn or one of those other major retailers. Why is that unbelievable?

What's unbelievable is you have been sitting on six unopened GTS for 5-6 years. I've collected at least a couple of each release since the Spring '05 and still have some unopened of each but at least I drank one. Are you saying you bought those and have not even tried it?
