I've got family going over to NZ shortly. I'm curious if anyone knows if they have different brands over there that I might not find readily available here in Aus?
If not does anyone has any suggestions of what to get from Duty Free?
Cheers.

I was in NZ in February Gumboot. I only saw a couple of HH brands that I haven't seen here - Fighting Cock 103 for example but nothing top shelf. I too entertained hopes of seeing a wider variety :'(
Duty free I think your best bet is with the Turkeys - I got 2 x 1L WT8 for about $60 I think. The Rare breed is a significant saving over retail and there is always the 12YO to try for something not readily available on the retail shelves. While I have not tried it the JD silver select is recommended on this board frequently.

I've bought from whiskygalore.co.nz before which should give you a fair indication of what's available over there. Since the Oz dollar is so strong right now it is very affordable.
It is no secret that I love that elixir of the gods, bourbon.

http://www.heavenhill.co.nz/pr01122.htm Check out the price listing. If there's anything you want I would suggest emailing Mark Britton brittonmj@clear.net.nz and asking him which retailers in the area your family are going to may have or be able to order the products. He's a pretty helpful guy.
Like Morgan pointed out, there's some great Turkey available Duty Free, and Makers Mark is only about $30 for a litre of the 90 proof.
That site Tym suggested has some cool stuff too, like Buffalo trace.
Good Luck!!
Cheers

I'll second that. I've emailed Mark before and told him where I'd be visiting, and he's recommended a retailer to go to. It's best to give him a few days though, and often it's best to call or email ahead to the retailer with what you are after so they can order it in for you if they don't have it in stock.
