Pappy's pricing

Given the scarcity of any Pappy's products here in S. Florida, I usually don't pay too much attention to the threads discussing the pricing of various examples. However, I managed to find a store on the Fl. west coast which has a good selection. The pricing was much different since the last time I was able to buy these locally. Pappy's 10/107 was $50 (I last bought it at $32), 10/90 was $45 (used to be $28 locally), Lot B was $45 (which seemed like a very good price), and Pappy's 15 was either $70 or $80. They had the '08 GTS for $80.

I left with a GTS, 2 10/107's and 2 Lot B's since I'll never see them locally. How do these prices compare with those in other locations?

Those prices are a little better than in Tallahassee. Sort of almost also in Florida.

In the case of GTS the your price is much lower.

It looks like a few of those prices are out of line.
To high for both the ORVW 10/90 and 10/107, to low for the VWSR Lot B.
Here's the MI state minimums for what you listed.

It's unbelievable how much prices differ from state to state (and even from store to store within a state that's not controlled). Here are the prices in Illinois that I've found within the last few weeks:

1. ORVW 10/90 ($25-$27)
2. ORVW 10/107 ($27-$30)
3. VWSR Lot B ($40-$45)
4. Pappy 15 (not restocked yet but typically $45-$50 last year)
5. Pappy 20 ($100+)
6. GT Stagg ($60-$70)

The ORVW 10/90 for $27 is Binny's price. And though their web site isn't showing the ORVW 10/107 at the moment, my local Binny's has tons of it for $30. (I recently bought two bottles of the 10/107 on sale elsewhere for $25.49 plus tax which was a terrific deal.) Lot B varies from one store to another and can go as high as the low $50's but most places are hovering around $45. Sadly, the prices are jumping quickly from year to year, and the state tax increase on Sept. 1st added $2-$6 to most bottles. (Well, the tax added $2 per 750ml bottle but retailers then started getting hit with higher prices from their distributors, so they've often added another few bucks in many cases.) It burns my ass to pay $41 for Highland Park 12 now when I could get it for $34 and change less than two months ago!

yeah . . .pricing is kinda weird and I know what you mean about getting what you can get . . . none of these are available in Maine (& there's nothing like it either), but I can get some of 'em in Mass or NH and that extra 50 miles makes a huge difference (I'm lucky to have the option) -- these are the price ranges for those products here (the lower number will be NH, higher will be MA):

ORVW 10/107 & 10/90 - $37 (same price, makes no sense, I know)
Pappy 15 - $50-65
Lot 'B' - $41-48
Pappy 20 - $100
BTAC - (last year in NH, they were $48) this year: $52 (NH) & I paid $69 this year for an '08 Stagg (in MA), but it was the only one I saw all year.

When it comes to pricing, we can't lose sight of taxes. I found this chart by state for various "sin" taxes. (NOTE: sales taxes are sometimes charged on top of the other tax.)
