Did anyone actually buy the 23 yr Old Rip set?

I was going to pick one up with some Xmas money, but I decided to get a Blu Ray player instead.

I was talking about this bottling and with Binny's 15% off day on Saturday my wife chimed in that if I wanted it for my Birthday she would get it for me...now to decide if I want to spend that kind of money on a single bottle.

Only seen one in person but with the pre-Christmas and post-New Year light wallet looming, was afraid to even ask the price. The flesh is willing but the purse is weak.....especially this time of year. If you happen to see one firsthand, it is very, very tempting.

In all honesty... I've never craved a $100 + bottle ever. Maybe PHC 27... but that was a one time sorta thing. This darn package has turned me into a sucker. I'm sure I'd love the juice, but it's the decanter I want. Seriously. I look at it everyday , and think... rent can wait. Oh, I want to get one.

You can keep the decanter, and glasses and pour the contents into a Pappy 23 yr old bottle and send it to me. Do you have any Pappy 23yr old bottles with a bag lying around?

By the time I got it to Australia, it'd probably cost me close to my yearly bourbon budget. Having said that, if I had the spare cash, I'd definately buy one for sure.

Same here. I can't say dropping $350 for a bottle bourbon is something I'm likely to do. (anything over $100 is a tough sell) but I too am an easy whore when it comes to whiskey.

I contemplated buying one my last trip to Binny's the weekend before Christmas. I passed on a trip to Binny's this past Saturday, mainly because the weather was supposed to be crappy. I also passed because the temptation would probably have been too much for me to resist with the 15% off. Joe

Finally got up the nerve today to check with the store where I previously mentioned seeing one of these.....$400 + tax. Unless I get a nice tax refund this year and can hide that much of it from the wife (2 highly unlikely feats), I think it is safe to say I won't bringing one home with me. Well, guess that takes care of that temptation.....for now.
