Last night we went to eat with friends and across the street from the restaurant is a martini bar. Before dinner we stopped for a drink. I am not usually a (real) martini drinker but looking over the selection one sounded interesting. It was called "Mafia Mistress"....a dirty vodka martini with rye whiskey added. I could definitely pick up the rye aftertaste....overall it was just ok as a drink. Has anyone else had or used rye in martinis? I have seen several recipes online using rye...often with vermouth and various flavorings.
